Tomorrow (March 8) at 5:30 PM Piast Gliwice will host Raków Częstochowa in the 24th round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa. This will be a very important match, especially for the "Medals" - they will be counting on taking the leader's seat.
The fight for the title of Polish champion for the 2024/2025 season is still fierce. Lech Poznań is in first place in the table, with 47 points, but Raków Częstochowa and the current champion, Jagiellonia Białystok, have one and two points less, respectively. The upcoming match will therefore be one of the key ones for Marek Papszun's players in the fight for the championship - if they win against Piast, then in the event of a draw or defeat of Lech against Stal Mielec, they will take over the seat of the sole leader.
Both teams are currently in great shape, so the match will certainly be extremely close - on the one hand, Aleksandar Vukovic's team has not lost a single game this year and has home-field advantage, on the other, Raków has won the last three games in a row (1-0 with Lech Poznań, 1-0 with Górnik Zabrze, 3-1 with Lechia Gdańsk) and will be strengthened by Gustav Berggren, who is returning from a suspension for yellow cards.
