The new striker of Miedź Legnica is Gustav Engval. The media immediately started comparing him to Mikael Ishak, which is a bit true. Both made their debuts in the Swedish national team.
Engvall is a 28-year-old striker who has played mainly in the Swedish league. He has played 150 times in that league alone, scoring 39 goals and providing 25 assists. "The tall and strong player is highly regarded in his homeland," we read in the Miedź Legnica announcement. During his career so far, the striker has played for Bristol City, KV Mechelen, and Djurgarden. Interestingly, in the Europa League qualifiers, he scored against Śląsk Wrocław and Piast Gliwice. He also made his debut in the national team, playing two matches. Considering the Betclic 1st League level, he is certainly a player of very high quality.
Engvall has signed a contract with Miedź until 2027 with the option to extend it for another season. He moves to Legnica on a permanent basis from the Swedish club Varnamo.
